Laudato Si

In his Papal Encyclical, Laudato Si’: on Care for Our Common Home, Pope Francis quotes the Earth Charter,

“As never before in history, common destiny
beckons us to seek a new beginning…
Let ours be a time remembered for
the awakening of a new reverence for life,
the firm resolve to achieve sustainability,
the quickening of the struggle for justice and peace,
and the joyful celebration of life.” [L.S. 207.]

In this issue, on the third anniversary of the issuing of Laudato Si’, we report on many of the Haiti Mission projects, pairing them with quotes from Laudato Si’.

A Joyful Celebration of Life! 20 Years in Haiti

On March 18th, in Gros Morne, the RJMs of Haiti along with numerous Haitian partners and friends, as well as current and former QUEST-Haiti volunteers, celebrated the congregation’s 200 years since it’s founding in 1818 and 20 years of presence in Haiti. Shown here are Srs. Rose Kelly, Patricia Dillon, Margaret Perron (Provincial Superior), Farzana Philip, Soledad del Carmen Moya, Nazareth Ybarra, Jacqueline Picard, Josela Gil Navarro, and Belén Ingelmo, RJM.

We have so much for which to be grateful.

How good God is!
