En noviembre, la Hermana Mary y la Hermana Jackie comenzaron a trabajar como voluntarias en RIRAL (Rhode Island Regional Adult Literacy), ubicada en Woonsocket, RI. La misi\u00f3n de esta agencia es ayudar a los adultos en el proceso de alcanzar sus metas acad\u00e9micas, ocupacionales o personales a trav\u00e9s de la educaci\u00f3n, el asesoramiento y la capacitaci\u00f3n. RIRAL brinda instrucci\u00f3n en idioma ingl\u00e9s, lectura, escritura, matem\u00e1ticas y tecnolog\u00eda, as\u00ed como preparaci\u00f3n para la universidad.\n <\/p>\n
\nLa hermana Mary se re\u00fane con Karolin, una farmac\u00e9utica registrada de Egipto. Necesita aprobar el examen TOFEL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). Hasta ahora, Karolin ha realizado el examen seis veces ($190 por intento) y no ha obtenido la puntuaci\u00f3n requerida.\n <\/p>\n
\nMary tambi\u00e9n es tutora de Isabel, de Portugal, quien, a pesar de haber cursado el cuarto grado en su pa\u00eds, ha conseguido convertirse en gerente de Dunkin Donuts. Isabel est\u00e1 tratando de aprobar el examen nacional externo de diploma que le permitir\u00e1 continuar con su educaci\u00f3n.\n <\/p>\n
\nLa clienta de la Sra. Jackie es Anu, una encantadora mujer india que ense\u00f1aba tecnolog\u00eda inform\u00e1tica en su propio pa\u00eds. Est\u00e1 comenzando el Programa de Transici\u00f3n a la Universidad conectado con CCRI.\n <\/p>\n
\nSu otro estudiante es un caballero vietnamita, Hao, que tiene su propio negocio y tambi\u00e9n tiene que aprobar el Examen Nacional Externo del Diploma.\n <\/p>\n
