Nuestro pa\u00eds, nuestra comunidad de California de diferentes religiones, diferentes colores, diferentes culturas, j\u00f3venes y viejos de cerca y de lejos \u2013 algunos de Sacramento, San Francisco, Los \u00c1ngeles y San Diego \u2013 todos se reunieron este viernes por la noche y s\u00e1bado en varias partes de San Diego para mostrar solidaridad y compasi\u00f3n con los inmigrantes, especialmente los ni\u00f1os.<\/p>\n
El viernes por la noche, Janet y yo participamos en la oraci\u00f3n interreligiosa en la iglesia de Nuestra Se\u00f1ora del Monte Carmelo, en la cima de la colina de San Ysidro, con vista a Tijuana al fondo. El Padre Pepe (Neal Wilkinson, SJ) y el Padre Jos\u00e9 Castillo, pastor de Mt. Carmel, nos dirigieron en oraci\u00f3n mientras entr\u00e1bamos en procesi\u00f3n a la iglesia.<\/p>\n
La rabina nos dirigi\u00f3 en la oraci\u00f3n del atardecer de los jud\u00edos, invit\u00e1ndonos a todos a ser personas de paz, amor, compasi\u00f3n, dignidad e integridad mientras nos prepar\u00e1bamos para entrar en los acontecimientos del fin de semana. Luego se fue a pasar la noche en oraci\u00f3n por todos. Muchos ministros, hombres y mujeres, de diversas confesiones cristianas nos dirigieron en un canto animado, meditaci\u00f3n y oraci\u00f3n. Cuando el \u00faltimo l\u00edder cerr\u00f3 la oraci\u00f3n de la tarde compartiendo las profundidades del Islam, \u00e9l tambi\u00e9n invit\u00f3 a todos a caminar en la luz y el amor de Dios con gran reverencia y unidad.<\/p>\n
Todos \u00e9ramos UNO en el coraz\u00f3n de nuestro Dios amoroso orando por los oprimidos y los opresores, orando por la integridad de tratar a todos con respeto mientras est\u00e1bamos a punto de hacer o\u00edr la voz de los que no ten\u00edan voz.<\/p>\n
El s\u00e1bado por la ma\u00f1ana, F\u00e1tima, Janet y yo participamos en la manifestaci\u00f3n en el Centro C\u00edvico y el edificio del ICE; solo nosotras y 5.000 de nuestros nuevos amigos llenamos las calles. Hubo muchos discursos breves, a favor de los inmigrantes, que expresaban indignaci\u00f3n por el trato inhumano a los ni\u00f1os, a los padres separados y a las formas antiamericanas de nuestros l\u00edderes gubernamentales.<\/p>\n
