ES.PE.RE PROGRAM ARRIVES IN HAITI: On May 18 we welcomed Maria de la Paz Viniegra, RJM (Mari Paz) and Haydee Barrera, RJM (Chely) to Port-au-Prince. They are from the Province of Mexico and are assigned to Havana, Cuba. They came to offer a workshop on ESPERE and to prepare a small group that could then offer it here in Haiti.

PEACE WALK IN WARWICK, RI: Sisters Vivian Patenaude, RJM, and Doris Bissonnette, RJM, along with other St. Timothy parishioners, joined the group for the one o’clock start time. Flags were distributed along with song sheets and instructions at St. Timothy’s steps. We were encouraged to walk with someone from another parish whom we did not know, which created interesting conversation.

SYRIAN REFUGEES WELCOMED AS NEIGHBORS: Representatives from more than 20 different faith organizations came together on April 9, to welcome six refugee families from war-torn Syria who have relocated to Hyattsville, Riverdale Park and College Park, MD.
Refugee & Immigration Ministries, helped organize the welcome dinner as a part of a national “Refugees Welcome” campaign, since one of the needs the refugees have is to simply know their neighbors.
A Brief Culture Immersion
From November 17 – 24, I had the opportunity to accompany Monica Joseph, RJM, superior general, and Alejandra Diaz, RJM, councilor for the Americas, on their very short visit to Haiti. We visited Gros Morne, Jean Rabel; visiting the atelier to see the women at work; and visiting the first pre-school established in the area at Colette.

What are You saying, Lord? (Religious Life Reflection)
It is difficult for me not to be moved by this act, seemingly useless and worthless, but so rich in meaning and intimate affection. It is a window to contemplate a tender expression of love and devotion for Jesus, our Lord, that mirrors, in my opinion, the self-giving passion that moves us to generously respond to Jesus’ call as disciples and religious women and men.
