Our four sisters from Haiti and the Leadership Team spent an enjoyable and fruitful four days together last week. From May 3 to 6, in exchanges and discussions facilitated by Ms. Marisa Guerin, our missionaries shared information and concerns about their situations and projects in Gros Morne and Jean Rabel.

Together we studied our ministries in light of the values that can promote systemic change.

This study is a ‘work in progress,’ but we hope that these values can guide future planning for ministry in Haiti.

INTRODUCING OUR CAMP CLAUDINE 2016 VOLUNTEERS: Our four Camp Counselors are on their way to Gros Morne, Haiti, for the start of Camp Claudine which begins July 4th, and runs for four weeks until the end of July.

ES.PE.RE PROGRAM ARRIVES IN HAITI: On May 18 we welcomed Maria de la Paz Viniegra, RJM (Mari Paz) and Haydee Barrera, RJM (Chely) to Port-au-Prince. They are from the Province of Mexico and are assigned to Havana, Cuba. They came to offer a workshop on ESPERE and to prepare a small group that could then offer it here in Haiti.

On January 23rd, Sr. Patricia Dillon, RJM, and Sr. Jacqueline Picard, RJM, were presented the prestigious William Jefferson Clinton Goodwill for Haiti Award which "...honors an outstanding individual(s) who has done extraordinary work on behalf of, and for, the people of Haiti."

In this issue, we highlight Camp Claudine and the college-age volunteers who live 4-weeks, or even a year in Haiti, serving the Haitian people as they themselves, little by little, build Haiti into a nest strong enough to hold their children's bright dreams for the future.
