TODAY IS EARTH DAY!
The Maryknoll Office for Global Concerns has emailed Earth Day resources, saying,
Earth Day is this Friday, April 22. In this season of Easter renewal, we invite you to use and share these resources to recommit to care of our Common Home.
- Pray this prayer and check out these resources for Earth Day from the Catholic Health Association.
- Explore Catholic Climate Covenant’s 2022 Earth Day program, “Integral Ecology: Pursuing the Common Good for Our Common Home.” The free, approximately one-hour program includes prayers; readings; a short video; and practical activities, including advocacy opportunities and personal sustainability commitments.
- Join a new national Catholic advocacy campaign, “Encounter for Our Common Home,” led by Catholic Climate Covenant in partnership with our office and other Catholic organizations. During this Spring training and advocacy campaign, we will urge our U.S. Senators to support climate solutions now. The campaign will culminate in a “Week of Encounter” May 2-6, with virtual or in-person meetings with U.S. Senators.
- Take action: Send a message to your senators asking them to pass ambitious climate solutions. This action alert is part of the national Encounter for Our Common Home campaign.
