In December the children sang their hearts out in preparation for the Winter Concert. We couldn’t be more proud of them and their performance! Thank you for attending and for your continued support in making Thevenet West projects and events so successful.

We learned about Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. We listened to some of the Nutcracker composed by Tchaikovsky and read the Nutcracker to learn the story.

We had lots of visitors in the classroom. The UE children (grades 4 & 5) read the Gingerbread Boy and helped the younger children decorate their candy houses. LE students (grades 1, 2, & 3) came caroling. Our Mystery Reader was Lohgan Shepherd, a former student who was in Thevenet West for three years. Ms. Patel, Meera’s mom, brought in her spinning wheel and taught us all about where wool comes from. Every student got a chance to use the Spinning Wheel and spin wool.

Some amazing visitors were the animals. Two birthday celebrations (Gabriel & Alessia) brought in animals. Children got to see a box turtle, bunny, mouse, a wallaby named Matilda, Fennec fox, Kookaburra, Armadillo and Henry, a Common Marmoset Monkey.
